In Ref to the Haughton High School Parents......Yes there are SOME ligit reasons why parents don't get involve with their kids and volunteering. BUT there are more non-excuses that shouldn't be used. JUST PURE LAZINESS....I've seen this when my daughter went through HS her 4 years. I belonged to the Band Booster Club and helped with the concession stands and it was ALWAYS the same old people. Us volunteers would like to watch our children during half time too. WE as volunteers are proud of our children as well. When we volunteer we sign up per quarter.....I don't think ONE quarter is much for volunteering. So step up and make your kids proud and VOLUNTEER your time. They are memories with your children you can cherish.
I also would like to address the SPIRIT of the fans at the Football games, well...ALL GAMES your kids are participating. When they are on the field and they here their side cheering them on, yelling the cheers with the cheer leaders, it gives them MORE MOTIVATION to do even better. Don't just sit, ROOT YOUR KIDS ON and if you don't have a Football player, ROOT THE TEAM ON!!! Show the other side that WE ARE MORE PROUD OF OUR SCHOOL THAN THEY ARE!!!
