I am a little tired tonight but i wanted to at least write a little on the "Tale" tonight. I hope some of you welcome hearing about this as it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. As i had said before, the story starts with my family of seven kids and i traveling to Arizona with not quite enough money to make the trip. In fact we started the journey with only about $150 dollars and two cars, a geo metro and an old ford van that burned or rather spewed a qt of oil out the tailpipe every 50 miles. We had attempted to take care of my mother who had recently had a stroke. we had moved up from Mississippi to northern Ky to take care of her. we barely had the money to make the move. But we got to Ky and found a house to rent that was big enough to house everybody. My mom was going to be sharing the rent and we had just enough money to rent the house and then she was going to move in and help with the next months rent. Well she changed her mind because she just did not think she could handle the kids as they were kind of rowdy kids. They were my step kids from my second marriage and she just didnt want to get into that kind of a situation. I tried to find work but all i could find were a few odd jobs and that was only enough to pay for the food and not much more. After a few months i fell behind on the rent and we began to pray for another situation. It turned out that i had a Mexican son in law who was the manager on a Pistachio farm in Arizona. His name was Miguel. We called him to see if he knew of anything out there and if he could help us. He was happy to say that if we could get out there really soon, that he would have enough work for us, he was sure. He said that he had a small trailer behind his house that we could live in; it didnt have water or electricity, but we could use his bathroom & shower in the farmhouse & that he could hook up an extension cord into the trailer for lights. So we decided as a family that we wanted to make this trip; that we didnt have anything in KY, that things had fallen through w/ my mom, and we had to find something quick as we were due to get evicted from our apt. in KY. Whatever we couldnt get into the van that we had, we either sold or gave away, and at least we had enough money to get started on the trip. So we all got together as a family and prayed that God would provide for us along the way so that we could make the approximately 2000 mile journey, from KY to Arizona. To be continued tomorrow.
